Species: Cityshapers Empty Species: Cityshapers

Sat Jun 26, 2021 5:33 pm
Only 7 founding lines comprise of the whole of the Cityshaper houses. Their pedigrees are meticulously maintained to prevent inbreeding, and as such, their houses are still rather recognizable. While these decidedly distinct dragons lack the feathers of their fellow City-dwellers, their scales are still large and overlapping. Cityshapers often walk on their hind legs with impeccable balance and low centers of gravity thanks to long tails with extended leather wing membranes that drape over their bodies like flowing capes. Their hind feet tend to be strong with splayed toes, allowing for bounding movement and glides where the Corants favour short bursts of controlled flight. Each family line boasts uniquely coloured scales, though interbreeding has allowed some hues to bleed into similar colour families at times.

With such a long history, a race such as this is bound to hold secrets. Bound by duty to the Roost, these skilled sorcerers ensure that each deserving dragon has a roof over their heads and systems to keep them happy and healthy. Cityshapers often have an eye for architectural wonder, and take pride in the intricacies that come with forming such a prosperous gathering of dragons.

Legend tells of the beginning, when the founding Flight raised the Roost from the MistFloor, heaving rock and stream from the clutches of the mists. It took all of their combined might to carve their caves and sow the first fields. The Corants flocked to this new safe haven, above the reach of the Roving Terrors. Their bright feathers were no longer a hindrance to their survival, and their population flourished under the careful guidance of the Cityshapers. For this, the Corants were eternally grateful; after all, why would you learn things like developing complex sewers, separate irrigation, and city governance on a scaleable model when you could instead pursue your individual creative passions? With a gadget or gizmo for just about any menial labour task, the pursuit of creativity was the perfect task for such delicate creatures. Meanwhile, the Cityshapers would do what needed to be done. A little leisure time is a small price to pay for prosperity.
